Odessa Linguistic Journal (Category B) is a specialized scientific journal that allows displaying the results of the most important areas of theoretical and practical research in the field of linguistics (Germanic, Slavic, Oriental Languages, contrastive linguistics, translation theory and practice), achieved by the representatives of National University “Odessa Law Academy” and other universities and research institutions of Ukraine.

Odessa Linguistic Journal was founded in 2013 by National University “Odessa Law Academy”.

The scientific publication is included in the international scientometric database Index Copernicus International (Republic of Poland)

The journal adheres to the policy of double internal review. Article review is voluntary and free of charge. The review procedure is open. Reviewers are advised that the manuscripts they refer to are the intellectual property of the authors and relate to non-disclosable information. Reviewers are not allowed to make copies of manuscripts for their own purposes. Breach of privacy is possible only in the case of allegations of falsification or falsification of materials. The author of the peer-reviewed work is given the opportunity to read the text of the review. Not allowed for publication: articles that do not meet the requirements for their design; authors who refuse to edit the article or who do not respond to or comment on the reviewer's comments. Rejected articles, after revision by the authors, can be re-submitted to the editorial board and reviewed in a general manner.

The editorial board of the journal, when reviewing the article, reserves the right to review the material using the Antipagliant system. If multiple borrowings are identified, the editorial board complies with COPE rules (https://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines).
Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts for review may not be used in personal research without the written consent of the author. The information or ideas received during the review and related to the potential benefits should be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers should not be involved in reviewing manuscripts in the event of a conflict of interest due to competitive, collaborative, and other interactions and relationships with any of the authors.

Specific scientific issues are discussed on the pages of the journal, achievements of scientific directions and schools being developed at the National University "Odessa Law Academy" are reported, the methodology of teaching of disciplines is covered.

The journal also informs about the events of academic life and philological education in Ukraine, provides a review of scientific papers and books on philological subjects.

The journal covers current issues of philological sciences.

Odessa Linguistic Journal is published for doctors of sciences, candidates of sciences, young scholars, university lecturers, senior students, translators, and all those interested in achievements of Ukrainian philological science.

National University “Odessa Law Academy” follows the rich tradition of Odessa Law School, whose history is rooted in 1847 (the time of existence of the Law Faculty at Richelieu Lyceum – the first higher educational establishment in Odessa). In 1865, Law Faculty joined the Imperial University of Novorossiysk. In 1997, when legal scholarship and education in Odessa turned 150, Law Institute of Odessa State University was transformed into Odessa State Law Academy. In a year, it has acquired membership in the Association of European Universities, and in 2000 the Academy received the status of national university. The Academy was reorganized into the National University “Odessa Law Academy” by the Decree of the President of Ukraine of September 2, 2010 № 893/2010.

According to the decision of the State Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the University is licensed and certified to conduct educational activities at the highest IV level of accreditation, which allows the provision of higher education to persons (including foreign nationals) at qualification requirements for Specialist’s and Master's degree in Law.

TodayNational University “Odessa Law Academy” holds a prominent place among centres of legal education and science of Ukraine, being a leading institution of higher education, the heir of glorious traditions of Odessa Law School, which dates back to 1847.
